Hello everyone!
So I have already taken up most of my time repyling to emails! Buuuttt we had a baptism on Saturday and it was soooo great! Nate was just beaming! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen out of a 13 yr old boy. He was so nervous and so excited. His foster parents had a little party for him after and it made him feel so special. It was such a great day!
We met a new investigator last week and had a ton of great lessons!
Sooo Sunday being my birthday but it was also my first talk that I had to give in Sacrament on my mission day! We were assigned to speak on missionary work lol! I was the second speaker and Sister Lovett first spoke on being bnetter member missionaries and then I spoke on the reason that we do missionary work. She thought of her topic as soon as we got the assignment and then I was like huh... well what the heck should I speak about now. Well I was prayign and thinking and praying somemore and then when we were leaving the baptism I thought of it and wrote it down in my planner. I wish you guys could have been there. I prepared for maybe an hour and a half tops sooo I was nervous!!! But it seemed to go good. I talked about the scripture in 3Nephi 12:14-16 about each of us having a light and that we were given it after baptism and then went on to talk about the joy that we can feel and that we want everyone to have that and thats why we do it. I set a scene for them by descibing what it is like when you are sitting across from a friend and are watching them feel the spirit and what joy that can bring you.. thats the really short version. Do missionary work though! It makes us happy I promise!
Then Sunday! It is so great being able to go to three Sacrament meetings. It is such a great way to start the week. So thought provoking and helps me refocus. I sware Mondays and Wednesdays are always the best becuase Monday is after the day we take the sacrament and Wednesday is the day after we go to the temple!
Yesterday was another great day. Saturday the 19th we were at an investigators house, Jennifer and one of her friends was over who turned out to be a less active. She was surprised that we were sisters. She had been converted by some sisters about 3 years ago and went less active about October last year. We asked if we could stop by. We visited with her and her daughter and taught them about the blessings that come from the standard mormon answers of going to Church, Praying and reading the scriptures. They said that they had wanted to come back to church but they werent sure which one to attend. Before the appt we weren't sure if they lived in our area so we asked the district leaders and it turns out that they are actually living few houses out of our area and live in their area. The ward boundaries are set up real weird here. But they wanted sisters so we went by the first time and taught that lesson and told them to go to the elders ward. So Monday we arrange for the District leaders to meet us there so that they can look out for them at church and be a support for them too. That morning my companion was really sick so she stayed in bed most of the morning. I woke upo like usual and kept the normal morning routine and I had been thinking about them and what to teacht them. I kept having conflicting things come into my mind and so I decided to just study like I normally would and then sister Lovett still wasnt out of bed so I started comp study on my own. I prayed and told Heavenly Father that my companion was sick and that I needed to know what to teach Crystal and Asha. Faith popped into my head so I revised and looked up more scriptures on that. I realised that would be a good way to follow up from last time too. I talked to Sister Lovett about what I thought and that was the plan we went with.
We met the Elders there and Asha was at school so we jut met with Crystal. We talked for a while and the Elders got to know her, it was great and she seemed pretty comfortable with them comign cause we surprised her with them but I felt really strongly they should come. We had a prayer and I started by saying basically just that we would like to talk about faith today. I asked her what faith is to her. She said this is where her issue has been, she then proceeds to tell us that she has just lost a baby cause of complications in the birht. The doctor had used forcepts to get the baby and accidently cut the umbilical cord or something and the baby bled to death. This is the second baby she has lost. Another died at 7 months. So sad! She has 3 others too. And then we have the most spiritual lesson ever. I cant remember a ton of what was said but I remember that I looked at her and said something like, Heavenly Father must have thought you were pretty special to have entrusted you in being the mother of two of his most precious and righteous children who only had to come to this Earth to get a body.. something like that and she cried. She is so awesome and she really hasnt lost she knows she just needed to withdraw for a time but she knows she is ready to come back.
It was awesome and the other cool thing was that after our last lesson her daughter she told us that Asha was like, mum when are we going to read and they were going to go to church but she had to work a double shift that day so she missed it but she has asked for Sundays off so that she can come!
We had a great visit with the Flora's yesterday. We taught them the commandments with all of the hand actions and they did really well.
I hope you are all as pumped for conference as I am.
Love you all

A day in the life of a Missionary
Oh my goodness everyone! You are all so amazing and I love hearing from you. You all sent such amazing news, cute photos and thankyou for all the birthday wishes! I am so excited for my birthday. I sware I am still like a 5 year old when it comes to my birthday.. just randomly throwing it into conversations that I have "oooohh and guess what Its the day of my birth this Sunday!" Thanks for allowing me this priviledge to be alive!
We had a massive day yesterday! It is probably my favourite day so far this transfer! Ok so here is how it went:
Woke up at 6:30 and exercised, ate breakfast, got ready, studied an awesome chapter on missionary work in Alma 17! So amazing, its still the same as it was then but it gave me a few things I can work on.
Then at 10am we went to paint a members house. There foster son is the one that is getting baptised this Saturday. We invited our whole district and all of them came so we had a great time, working, talking and laughing. I love how often we get to do service! Then we taught him, Nate a lesson on the Law of Chastity and the 10 commandments and just to let you know teaching the Law of Chastity to a 14 year old is very awkward! I may or may not have laughed multiple times through out the lesson. What an example I am hehe!
Then we raced from there to another appointment with a recent convert but she wasn't there so we went and contacted a referral and made an appointment with her for Wednesday. Then we raced to dinner which was the best taco's I think I have ever eaten. This dinner was with one of our ward missionaries families so it was fun also. Then we raced to meet a member who was coming to our next appointment and raced (when I say raced I really mean drove camly and the speed limit as I am a missionary so I can't race like I used to, plus we are on the Lords time out here lol) over to this family, the mum is less active (she hasn't been for about 10 years) and the kids are all like, hey you need to teach us longer!! One of the kids is set on getting baptised. But the mum is passive about the whole thing. We just have to teach them more stuff so that they know what they are actually doing and so the mum knows why it is so important. But this kid is so amazing! He is only 8 but you should have heard his first prayer ever! He didn't even want help and it was so heartfelt and beautiful. They all have their own BOM and love to read. They fight over whose turn it is. Its really cute.
Ok so that appointment went over but that was ok because we had arranged for the Bishop and his wife to be at our next appoinment so they just got aquainted with him. I am not sure if I have told you about this investigator or not, but all the days mush into one and I forget things so sorry if I am being redundant about these people. Any way he is this guy in his late 30's who work a bizzilion hours a week becuase he is the Sue Cheff for the nicest and biggest restaurant in town and everytime that we go there he has had another spiritual experience. I think I must have told you about him.. he is the one that had the Book of Mormon fall off the table from being in the middle of the table so he read it and had a way better day cause he was totally calm after he read that day. So this week the Bishop was there to help us talk about the Priesthood, Prophets and how important church is etc. Last week we had gone through the Gospel of Christ so Faith, Repentance, Baptism, recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the end. We had talked about the priesthood and how important it is for these ordinances so before we went any further we wanted to clear a few things up about personal revelation and revelation that comes from church leaders etc. The lesson we have with this guy are always soo amazing! I think I may have talked a little much this time but I have just decided to say the good things that I feel prompted to say and to cast out all fear. At one stage he had just finished sharing all of these experiences and I felt impressed to tell him that we would never ever push him into baptism, but that I felt I should point out to him that from the experiences that he is having that it appears that he is being prepared to make the covenants of baptism and to have the Holy Ghost with him all the time. He recognises promptings, he has stopped drinking, he is starting to develop Christ like attributes and all these different things that I pointed out to him and related them to each different covenant. I love teaching about the Priesthood and having the Bishop there was amazing!
Woo! So after that we were super late for our next appointment with Martha Ann (who is another gigantic story that I may or may not have already told you). She is a less active in the heaviness of trials. So we popped over and she didn't mind but we had a half hour discussion with her about trials and how important they are. We are starting to teach the missionary discussions with her tonight so it worked out well.
Then we finally went home and were 5minutes late! Uh oh! Then we planned, prayed, prepared for bed and I wrote in my Journal, prayed again and went to sleep. Oh and just so you know, missionaries do pray a ton, we pray before every appointment and house we go into and just alot. I like it!
So there is a really long winded day in the life of a missionary.
Last week I had a cool experience with one of our investigators. We turned up at her house and she wasn't there so I rang her and she said that her sister had flown in the night before and she was in Buhl visiting and was tired so she could come. She didn't sound good so I said ok and just joked a bit to try and make her feel better. We had a member there so we chatted for a bit and just as she was about to drive away, Chris calls me back and said "I am sorry, I just lied to you but I knew you would understand. I realised after I hung up that it is probably the best thing I can do right now is to meet with you. I have just recieved bad news from the doctor and was also visiting a friends grave who had died 6 months ago today and so I was just a little sad when you called. I really want to meet with you so I will be there soon. And I just said I understood and said I look forward to seeing her soon and then I said Bye Fibby! This is the kind of relationship I have with her. She came and we had an awesome lesson with her! She has the best questions and the spirit is so stong in her home. We actually talked about the Priesthood with her too becuase we had been talking with her husband about getting his Patriachal blessing.. I hope I told you about that cause that was a cool story, let me know if I didn't. She gets the difference now in our church than others and why it is important etc!
Ok Soo I had better get going. My companion was done writing like half an hour ago...
I love you all and miss you!

Joy in the journey
Hello wonderful family,
I really loved your emails this week! So possitive and happy! I love you all and miss you all! Sometimes it feels like forever till I will be able to be normal again and see you all again but I guess that by the time I get there I won't want to be normal any more but I'll be sad that I can't be a missionary! I decided I should probably start with the mass email to everyone today so that I have time to write something decent to you all.
Soooooo I have had a weird week but still good. Since Sister Thomas left I have been a bit stressed hehe. I have had to teach my companion everything about our area, learn how to drive on the other side of the road and notice all the street signs and stuff on the opposite side of the road (I accidently ran a red light cause I didnt see the lights hehe shhhh don't tell anyone... but we lived!) and basically just lead the area. My companion is the senior companion but it is kinda hard for her to lead when she doesn't know any one that we teach... so I have been walking away from lessons being like.. did I say the right thing, did I prepare enough. I am just learning to trust that I am really here for a reason and that Heavenly Father knows exactly what I am going to say before I am going to walk in there and that whatever happens is his will. Nothing has gone bad yet as far as I can see so I am trying to stop the little voices that are telling me I am not good enough.
We have about 6 investigators that have committed to baptism and almost all of them have had something that we will have to work through with them. There is one family who are so amazing and all I want for them is to be together forever but its going to be a process. The dad is inactive but he and his two kids were at church on Sunday! Yay! His wife wants to be baptised. She is the sweetest person that I have probably ever met but she always has to work on Sunday which makes it hard and she has something else that she has to deal with. I have never felt my heart ache for someone as much as I have for her. The day she goes into that water and comes out a new person will truly be a momentous day. Her three girls will probably be baptised at the same time so it is really amazing to watch all of their growth as they work towards that.
So Dianne who was just baptised is doing amazingly well! She has a job now and tons of the people who live in the homeless shelter are being changed from her experience. I spoke to her yesterday and she was like "when he promised blessing I never realised that they wouldn't just be for me!" She got baptised and the following week, a bunch of the people who had been living in the womens shelter with her but for months before her without a job and they all got jobs the next week! Either a coinidence or the verse in Alma 7 coming true (see the bottom of this email). So the week of her baptism she moves into a homeless shelter which was like the end of the world for her as it would be for most but was surrounded by people who were supporting her rather than the jerks she lived with before! She is just a changed person from the first day I met her, making the most out of every situation and truly recognising her blessings. She will be able to live at the homeless shelter with all her food and housing paid for and pay off all of her bills, have fun with all the other people, it is totally drug and alcohol free- they check and stuff, so basically has this chance to build he life up the way she wants it! And she has seen that and is so happy! I am so happy, talking to her is one of my favourite things to do now!
So we taught an investigator that Sister Thomas and I found tracting this week! It was the first lesson that Sister Lovett and I had taught together so I felt it went bad but he told us we could come back and teach him more so it could have been that bad. We had an awesome tracting experience this week too! I have been tracting 3 times and not for very long any time but I am weird and like it so we do it when we can! I have faith in it so thats probably why we have some success in this town of people that have all been sent anti by another church. I think that is very Christlike of them don't you? I think its kinda funny cause it actually got the missionaries more work then doing the opposite. This week we followed this plan in this book that tells us to do a ton of different things to receive inspiration before going out and tracting. It involved a ton of praying, not that we don't already pray a ton. But any way this street on the map stood out to me and my companion we got the street at the time we could and I felt like we should go to a certain door. This first door we stopped at was a member that we knew who stood outside with us and gave us a full rundown of everyone that lived on their street.. who all the members were and who all the inactives were and who would be interested and who wouldn't. Apparantly he and his wife are like the nicest neighbours you could possibly have... they meet every knew person that moves in and out and they are the veterans of the street.. they have been there the longest. They take them presents and stuff on holidays and stuff. Soooo after all this information about each house, there was one door that he said we should go to... They weren't home (anti climax lol sorry) But we are going to go back on a Saturday or something so I will keep you updated on how that goes!
Everyone should read Alma 7 it is my favourite this week. I have used it in almost every lesson and every dinner appointment hehe. Especially verse 11-13 and the last verse, I think it is verse 23. He knows exactly how to help us through any kind of pain and heart ache, and how we learn how we need to get through things is through the Spirit. The Spirit can teach us all things, including how to use the atonement in our specific and individual situations. He knows how to help us we just have to learn how to grasp that. As we learn to do that it can affect everything around us!
Well I love you all a TOOONNNN

A very busy week
Ok so I had another jam packed week. We had a baptism on Saturday!!! She seriously went through some trial last week too!! As of Wednesday Dianne she is now living in a homeless shelter, has no job and no mode of transportation. But she stayed so positive and the blessings are already coming! She should have a job really soon and hopefully a new place to live. It was the best baptism and a ton of people came. She is doing well and making friends! I am so happy about how well she has progressed. I have another appointmen with her tomorrow so we can see how she is feeling.
Ok so remember how last time I told you that Norma wants to be baptised? Well... we had a wonderful visit with her on Wednesday where the Spirit was so strong and her testimony is just sky rocketing! Towards the end of that she started telling us her schedule for the rest of the weeks so that we could make another appoinment and well she had an appointment with her parole officer... so our hearts sunk.
The next day we came back and we had been praying all morning about how we would approach it. We shared some amazing stories of perseverance from our own experiences and from the BOM, then Sister Thomas told her that we had been praying all morning because there is some thing that we need to tell her. She told her that she can't be baptised until she is off parole and Norma just sank. We had a member there called Sister Stander and she is so amazing. We all did our best to explain the reasoning to her and express to her how amazing it will be when she can rise out of that water with everything behind her but Norma was hurt, really hurt. She said that she couldn't understand that the one Church that she believes is true and the one church she is ready to stick with, won't take her as she is. Sister Thomas then said that she was hurt that Norma was feeling that way then went on to explain that she isn't being rejected, rather she was being told to wait. I Shared Mosiah 23:21-22 at some point. This is a great scripture and really puts trial into perspective... for some reason we found out then and needed to tell her. It was a trail heavenly father saw fit for her and she has already seen progression since then. She is ok now and she was at church on Sunday...but Sister Thomas is gone so thats scary but hopefully I will be able to pick up where she left off. She is a wonderful person and so loving. It has just been a continual msg for her of keep going and stay on that path. You are being tested! Aren't we all!!
Marta Petersen is doing really well! She had an interview with the bishop on Sunday and we saw her after and she seemed to have a bit of a weight lifted. She has commited to baptism too and her (three daughters maybe also) but the thing is that her husband is an inactive member and really hasn't got too much of an interest. He finally came to lesson on Thursday and hopefully we can keep that up and help him understand how important it is again. Pray for that please!
We are teaching the cutest family, the mum is an inactive member and the two little boys are so cute. They are 6 and 9. I just love them so much. We had family home evening with them last night and their home teachers taught the lesson. They are so hypo but they just sat their and listened. They came to church on Sunday which was exciting and they said they are coming again this week. I will have to tell you more about what makes them so awesome but I really have to rap this up!
Buttttt.... I think I told you about Lisa before, the one we movesd and then found a home for at the members house? Well if not let me know. I think its a great story. Well she wants to get baptised to and she is so excited!!
Ok thats all I can write for now but I could just keep going! I love you all and love hearing from you!

Fear and excitement
Hi everyone,
So here is my latest update!! Im freaking out!!! Haha! Not too bad though but my companion is leaving me next Monday and then I will have to show someone else around here and I don't even know how to get places that good yet! I am sure it will be ok though.
But guess what?? Dianne is getting baptised this Saturday and I am soooo excited! She knows the Church true and Heavenly Father her to be baptised real bad. So one of the people in our mission presidency, President McCurdy had a prompting to come to Diannes ward to meet her, not last Sunday but the Sunday before and it meant the world to her! She has j had experience after experience to show her that the Church is true. I can't wait to see how being a member of the church affects her life. Everything in her life outside of this though is not going so great so can you all pray that she is able to find somewhere else to live that atleast has heating??? She used to be so negative and she would get stuck thinking and talking about all the bad things in her life now and previous but now everytime we see her she is just beaming with excitement and she is just such an example of Faith! I cannot wait to see how she is blessed! I know that she will be blessed amazingly. I can just feel it! Seriously she has come so far and she is such a strength. Her excitement is how we should all be about about our baptism! We have the gate of Heaven unlocked to us because of our baptism and we should be thanking Heavenly Father every day that we were born into families that had the Gospel!
Plusssss!!! Another lady that I think I have already told you about, Norma who has also had the Spirit testifying to her strongly. We went over to her house for a lesson on Sunday and two or three weeks previously we had had our last lesson.. I can't remember exactly but Sister Thomas had asked her to be baptised but she said she wasn't ready too like Dianne did initially. With her and Dianne we always seem to have some of the most spiritual lessons. Soooo we went over and she started asking questions about the Book of Mormon. We shared long testimonies and some of our favourite stories ( P.S I have been loving reading the book of Mormon, I can finally read it like a normal book with a huge excitement, wanting to know what happened and not wanting to put it down. I am reading in Mosiah and it is just action packed with such amazing stories of the blessings that come from our faith, prayer, repentance, being baptised and following the prophet. I may sound like a dorky missionary but I don't even care! Its so great!) and then I asked her if she feels it... If she feels that its true. She said she knows it is, she can feel it and she has a burning desire to read it!! And then she dropped the amazing bombshell... She goes.. So I was sitting in Church today and it just kept going through my head.. get baptised, get baptised. Then she said she couldnt stop thinking about it all day and she said she was thinking about it our whole lesson too.. She said that she wants that now too! We all started crying!! It was the best feeling ever and we all hugged her and congratulated her.. you have never felt excitement until something like that happens!!
Ok so what else happened.. Oh we got our lunch paid for agian today! We walked into another place and the owner was a mormon and was like.. get whatever you want.. Its on me!! Then we talked for him for a while and he served his mission in South Africa or America.. I forget and they baptised a whole tribe that lived in the rain forest in a Paranah filled lake!! No one got bitten and they were all scared to go in the water but that was the only place they could be baptised!! The whole tribe!!! They also believed in the great white God who was going to come back some day... then the missionaries showed up...
There has been tons of great experiences.. oh we have been teaching this family who attend the Pentacostal church here and the dad knows the Bible from cover to cover!! He also talks faster and more than any other guy I have ever met but its usually quite interesting. Any way so they have a big family and so it was rather noisy. We were finding it tricky to start the lesson and I had a prompting for us to sing a song. We sang I know that my Redeemer lives and the whole atmosphere changed. The children just sat and listened and everyone was quiet. We started the lesson and it went really well. They are such a great family and we have high hopes for them!
Oh the Petersen family is praying about their baptismal date right now too! We have two lessons with them this week.. we are hoping that the dad of that family who is an inactive member will be there this Thursday. He is supportive of them but he is always bowling when we have lessons. Oh thats another funny story that I will save for another time!
I am sure there is a ton more that I could write about but I had better leave it at that today!
I love you all and miss you all and hope to hear how you are all doing soon!

Hi everyone,
How are you all doing? I am pooped!!! We woke up early today and went to the temple for the 7:30 session and then we went and did this workout call the P90X which is all pliometrix so like jump squats and other jumping exercises, pretty much just a ton of jumping, plus I played a little bit of basketball, then we went and played pool and round the world Ping pong and this awesome game named Ninga which I will have to show you when I get home becuase its the best game ever! Then we had lunch and now I am here so my eyes are struggling to stay open! I am in serious need of a siesta!
I attached some photos from in the MTC, me being silly and my companions and my district. I would have attached more but my cameras battery just went flat! I
Being a missionary is so awesome! Man! We had some amazingly spiritual lessons this past week and we found 5 new investigators which means we are going to be even more busy this coming week!
We had a baptism on Friday night and that is the coolest thing ever! I was only there for half of their lessons but still it was an amazing experience to watch their changes and how happy they are because they have the Gospel in their life. I had a photo of them but I guess that will have to wait
So one of the investigators that we found this week is totally golden.. the first time we met her she asked.. "so what do I have to do to be baptised?" Cool huh and she is 23 and she has 2 kids. She looks kinda like Beth and is one of those people were you can just tell that you will get along great. Her 3 year old daughter is blind and she has just gotten a divorce. She was a foster child when she was 12 in an LDS family for only 60days and they stayed in contact with her! I'm really excited to teach her!
It is amazing when you are in a lesson when you can feel Gods love for that person! We had two great lessons with Diane this week who is committed to baptism. She is struggling with Joseph Smith as a prophet, which is kinda important to know when you are getting baptised lol! She is progressing really well though. We had a lesson on Friday and then again yesterday and Heavenly Father seriously wants her in his church. She is the one that has been investigating for 8 years. We were seriously being inspired and we found out a ton of her fears and other things that are holding her back and all of us (me sister Thomas, the member that came (there are two different members who are being her fellowshippers) and myself) had the confirmation that she knows its true. But she is still holding onto her fears but I think next lesson there will be good news. The lessons have been so specific and indepth. She had a priesthood blessing that just blew us away also! On Friday we left the room and she prayed for the answer and then when she went home she had some personal revelations about some of her situations, at church she had a million questions ansered and she went to a fireside and the person speakings grandfather or great grandfather personally knew Joseph Smith!!! She was just like.. wow, wow! Then on Monday as we were teaching her she was just so happy! She is nearly there. She is working with Sister Belnap who does counselling kind of like Kinesthesiology and they are working through her fears. We had dinner with Sister Belnap last night and her family (we had the best chicken ever PS) and she said that she thinks they have worked out why she is the only one that has worked out that she knows its true yet. It's interesting but I am going to leave that part of the story out! But trust me Satan knows our Weaknesses better than we do!!!! I'm telling you stay away from him!! Diane is such an awesome Lady. I can't wait to see the blessings she receives from being baptised!
We get texted referrals occasionally and we got a ton last week. We had time on Sunday night to go see one so we prayed and one of the names popped into my head that we had visited previously but weren't home. We got there and they invited us straight in! It was a family of 6 and the parents are on drugs I am pretty sure and they are inactive members but they want us to teach their 4 kids, 3 of which are of baptismable age. So that is kinda weird but we are planning on getting members to pick them up and take them elsewhere to teach them rather than in that home. The dad just got out of jail like 6 months ago too which is awkward. I think he said it was something drug related and he has track marks on his arms which tells me he is still on drugs. The poor kids!
Stacks of people that we meet have been in jail or just got out of jail! It is crazy and there is a guy that we are teaching who just got out and he is on parole so he won't be able to be baptised for a while. You can't be approved for baptism if you are on parole.
So we go to three different wards every Sunday and its the Bom!! I love it. The people here are so great and it is just amazing the support that they provide each other and us! Dinners are so good, we get a Sunday night dinner like everynight! We had a night last week where the members forgot about us and we decided we would just go get a Salad.... that was paid for buy random members there too. And that was a treat for us to not have to eat a heavy meal for once but I loooove dinners too cause it tastes so good!
So my food alergies are awesome! I am eternally bloated! Milk and me aren't friends but members seem to put it in everything. I had no idea how much people use it outside of our family! I have these tablet thingos that help a little though.
Wow tired!
Can someone please send these emails to Grandma and Nanny or send me their email addresses because I had them on a peice of paper but I'm not sure where that is anymore and I would love for them to talk to me sometimes too... Also Mary's email?
Thanks for the emails that I got today but I can only send this one. I will get back to you better next week! We still have a ton to do and I must nap as it is the one day in the week I can and I really need to!
Oh and Josh I got your letter on saturday! Thank you! Those quotes are amazing. I will get one back to you soon!
I love you all and miss you! I hope you are all doing ok!

I know when I am baptised....
Hello family!
I miss you all but it has been another wonderful week. It is currently snowing outside so it is pretty cold today and it was really windy yesterday! I just came from the temple so I have had a great morning so far! The weeks feel so long. It feels like forever ago that I wrote last. So we currently have a total of 5 baptisms coming up in the next month, two on Friday, one next tuesday and then two on the 5th of March depending on what happens tonight. One is an 11 year ol boy so he has to get approval from his dad (who is in a piligimist relationship eek). The other is the piligimists brother and he is having his interview tonight so we are a bit worried about him too! There are seriously some interesting people that we meet here haha but everyone is still pretty easy to love.
We have been teaching a ton of lessons and I am getting more comfortable with it. My companion says that I do really good but I just try to let the spirit guide but sometimes I still get a little nervous which makes that harder. But the other day we gave the first lesson and I we alternated teaching the principles and I taught the first vision part. I sometimes stuff up a little cause I get nervous about having to memorise the vision but this time I was praying and my companion said she was praying and I recalled it perfectly and the Spirit was so strong. I can barely remember what I said that lesson which tells me that the Spirit was working through me. Its all about being humble and understanding that you can't do it alone and trusting that the Holy Ghost will give you the words when you need them.
We are teaching so many great families and get to see many miracles. There is one family who we are working with and they are coming back into activity, their son is nine and not baptised so we have been teaching them the lessons and the mum was the one who wanted them to start going back and the dad was finding it hard. Then the boy Calvin said that he wanted his dad to baptise him! Alleluyah! his dad came to church and stayed the whole time! Their whole family has anxiety problems and have issues being in large groups so that is a big deal that they stayed for the whole 3 hours. So his dad has a little ways to go before he can but that should be another one coming up soon.
You all sound like you are doing well which makes me happy. I hope all the blessings from me serving a mission go to all of you. That would make me extremely happy. Give the Lord opertunities for him to bless you! Be good!! Study, come closer to the Saviour. He is the greatest person you could know in the life and by following his example is how we give the Lord opertunities to bless us.
I have the greatest possible companion I could have hoped for. She will definately be a life long friend. We laugh all the time and, well most of the time we are laughing at my gooseness! Are all Australians big gooses or just me? Did I tell you people have nicknamed me Dorey?? Hehe the people I met in the MTC and now my companion! She thinks that I forget things but really my subconcious just thinks they are unimportant so deletes them hehe. Nah you all know the truth but I was hoping I could hide that here..It's just when I am tired though. I have been feeling that I should show my personality as I teach and not be ashamed because my personality is the reason that I was sent here and people will recognise it and want to listen to me because of me.... Does that make sense?
Anyway...
We are going to this place today which is a giant jumping castle and maze thing! I am pretty excited. I have started doing bootcamps with my companion in the mornings cause she wanted to make her workout more intense in the morning cause she goes home in four weeks.. sad! I love that I still have some skills in that area!
So I think that I could do better at a few things but I am trying really hard to be the best I can, but now that I have created some good habits, its time I step it up a bit and create more because we can always do better!
Oh some other exciting stuff that we hafve done since I have been here is that we have helped 2 people move and we helped out a soup kitchen last night. We will be going to the soup kitchen every Monday for an hour now. Community service is so great! People really need our help and it's great exposure for the church.
Ok well I have been on here a while now so I should go!
Love you all!

Called to serve
It has been another amazing week!
Thankyou again for the letters and emails that I got this week! They really are so exciting to recieve and it helps support me!
Sorry I only have time for a short one now!
So we have a total of four investigators who are comitted to baptism and one happened becuase I finally followed the spirit! Yay! This past Sunday was a day of miracles! We had investigators turn up to church. We had one investigator that we hadn't been able to get in contact with come up to us after church even and he is coming to the addiction recovery program and we are teaching him after.
So last week on Wednesday or Thursday we taught a lady who basically we were seeing if we should drop or not... she has been investigating for 8 years!! and basically she would normally just meet with the missionaries and dump her problems so this time we prepared what we though we should and then the spirit prompted me to talk about baptism and her life would be blessed if she was baptised and becuase she has been a investigator for so long this has allowed satan to confuse her. Also about how much heavenly father loves her to have sent missionaries to her for 8 years. She started crying and said she was too scared and I talked to her about how sometimes the scariest things are the most worthwhile. She said she would pray about it. Sunday she ran up to my companion (who is really really really nice to her and has supported her a ton) and told her she has decided to be baptised on the 14th Feb.. valentines day, a day representing love!! Pretty awesome huh!
Then another investigator had a scesher (how do you spell that?) A fit thing during the sacrament. They got her outside lying down right before it (her sister and neice.. her sister is the investigator) becuase this is something that she has had for a long time and normally when she has a fit she will be out of it for about an hour and she won't be able to walk for a few hours after she wakes up and won't be able to talk. There was a lady from the other ward who saw the fit happening, ran and grabbed some men, they gave her a blessing and she opened her eyes straight away! Her sister was amazed!! She is her carer and that had never happened before! She also felt that she needed to tell the Bishop about it and they then had a spiritual experience together and they both started crying! I was amazed when they told us what happenend! Then we had the most spiritual lesson with her about the plan of salvation last night! The spirit was so strong and she was so excited about it. We all cried. There are a few things that she said she needs to pray about still and she is unsure about baptism still becuase she has always been a floater. She would go to one and then to a different one the next week. The Lord really seems to want her in his church though!
Sorry its so quick but I have to go now!
Love you all a ton

Anna that is such a cute story about the spiders and so nice of you to have gotten Beulah a job! You seriously made everything that you talked about so entertaining! I loved it! I am glad that you are looking for a new job but at least you have a friend to help you bare it for now! Kristy Atkinson will be fun! Are you going to take Arnalees room too? How is everything going in the Ysa scene and how did you like convention? Katrina did send me photos and he is so cute! Thank you for that! Can you please tell Kerry thankyou sdo much for her letter and that I got it right after my last pday. I only have time to email on this one two so hopefully I will send her one back next week! Time is so short!
Mum it sounds like things are coming together! i am so glad that you are moving to Brisbane and that you and James are happy. There is always more friends waiting where ever you go! I know that you will be blessed for making such a righteous action and working hard. You are wonderful mum and I love you so much. Everything always works out when we are willing to put in the effort and trust God.
How is everyone else doing?
i am officially in the mission field. I have a lovely companion named Sister Thomas and she is so nice. This is her last area and we are serving in Twin Falls and there is a beautiful big new temple here that I will get to visit every week I am here, which may only be 6 weeks! I can tell that I am going to learn alot from her and we will have a lot of fun. We seem to be pretty similar actually so I'm excited to serve her. Last night I went to my first appoinment with her and she comitted the family that we were teaching to baptism, they accepted and should be baptised in two weeks! We have 4 more appointments today! We are going to be so busy!
I am a little nervous because I have to teach but I just have to trust that the Lord will lend me his spirit and direct me in what to say. I love that I get to learn how to be closer to the spirit and it will help me a ton in the future.
I don't have alot more time but my last few days in the MTC were amazing. Saying goodbye was a little hard cause I loved that place and the people there! I will send some photos next week.
It was soo fun there and i made so many friends and learnt so much about myself spiritually and in other ways.
I am so glad that you are all safe. How long did the flood last for? Did any of your houses flood at all?
I am trying so hard to be diligent so that you guys can get as many blessings as possible. I have even written in my journal everyday since I have been out.. a couple of times it was just, today was great and that it's too late for me to write but still! everyday!
I Have to go but I love you all and miss you all! Thanks again for your letters and emails! It does save me worrying and be anxious about you!

Time is flying already
Hello again!
I ran out of time last week, lets hope the same thing doesnt happen again.
Thanks for your replys! I love hearing about what is happening. P.S Wow Nor that is such a great experience! Happy Birthday to Andrew Lenora and James just incase I miss you guys coming too!!! I love you all!
How about now? Has treen had him yet? Maybe it was a blessing she hadnt yet because of the flooding?
I can't believe the flooding! Are everyones houses ok? Its great that it has brought a nice spirit around the area! I had a blessing the other day that told me that you all would be blessed for my service which made alot less worried. I didnt even realise that I was worried until we had the most amazingly spiritual class on Monday. Everyone in the class was crying and the spirit was so strong. One of my companions was in alot of pain and needed a route canal. Our lesson was on how prayer can bring the spirit. We went out of class to help Sister Wilson feel better but then we stopped the class for her to have a blessing. All the Elders participated (P.S I am in the best district ever) (P.S.S. one Elder sadly went home on Saturday) and straight after the spirit just soured in the room and we went round bearing testimony and experiences of when prayer has helped us feel the spirit. The teacher said that she felt that someone would need a blessing and that is why she was promted to do the lesson on prayer. It was the greatest thing ever.... everyone was crying and sharing their love and stuff and then in side of me I just felt" have a blessing now or this is going to affect alot harder later on in your mission". There was something else in particular that I realised I was feeling too but it's a secret lol. So I put my hand up and told the class exactly how I was feeling and then the quietest guy in the room stood up and said that he should give the blessing and I knew it should be him too. Then he shared a simple but beautiful blessing of comfort that you all would be blessed while I am gone. It was really amazing.
Alot of stuff in my patriachal blessing is already coming to light also. I am really really glad that I am here. It was definatley the right place at the right time.
I have also been call as the Coordinating sister which is like the Zone leader for the sisters. It means that I have to show new missionaries around and uplift and tell them the rules, report etc.
We are doing great as a companionship and our lessons are getting alot better and we are getting alot better at inviting the spirit and yesterday we had an extremely spiritual lesson but I neglected to follow a prompting and it was kinda an important one.. to invite them to ba baptised! wooooops Well there is always the next lesson and I learnt an important lesson! Never hesitate becuase its not me its the spirit that converts. I am just the vessel so I need always follow promptings rather than letting what other people have said before the lesson affect me. There was question that popped up that means I get to learn about that too which may be important for a lesson I teach in the future.
My memory for what is in the scriptures is getting so much better! I am really retaining the important things. My scripture for the day yesterday was 2 Nephi 32:3! I love it. I love learning from the scriptures
AHHH three minutes
Thankyou Katrina for your letter!!! I will write back today while I am doing my Laundry.
I have alot more amazing things that I have happened that I could share but there isn't enough time.
I am glad you are all safe. I miss you all

At the MTC
Hello amazing family,
I only have another 20 minutes to write after reading your emails! i really appreciate them so thank you! I will only be able to send out a bulk email for the next two weeks until I get in the feild and I can make a phone call from the airport so can you send me the number of who ever has the most people at the house in say... 2ish weeks from today. I will either leave on a tuesday or a Wednesday.
So my Goss... I love the MTC!!!!!!.. The first two days were awesome! I was greated like a celebrity lol! A whole group of people came to greet me cause I am international and from AUSTRALIA and people always just want me to talk. Everytime I open my mouth people someone is like ohhh I looove your accent where are you from? then I say Australia and they say oh i love that place.. then I Say wow have you been and then they say uhhh no hehe... Sometimes people are a little silly.
So remember how I was nervous before I left.. well yeah I am totally not nervous at all. My first two days I was a solo sister so I made tons of friends and now I am in a trio companionship.. being in a companionship is sometimes annoying and I am probably pretty annoying to them cause when I am tired I forget stuff so we always have to walk back to our room cause I am tireed alllllll the time hehehe ooopps! Sometimes I am so tired I feel like crying. Sometimes my companions annoy me so much that I yell at them..... on Monday hehe then we make up and I named Monday Explosion day and the next day we bought pop rocks to celebrate! Taste the Explosion!!! So we are all good now!
I love teaching lessons! I love learning and I am like the nazi in our class telling everyone to shut up all day cause I am here to learn.. that was one of my issues with my companions.. they were writing letters in class when they were supposed to be doing their study for our lessons so like the first 3 lessons I ended up teaching almost on my own.
I am really trying to focus on shutting up myself now and trying to let the spirit guide me while I study and talk to investigators (they are only acting but you are still bearing testimony to heavenly father). I am trying really hard to follow all the rules and the only day I didnt get up on time was when my alarm didnt work... we all slept in that day but you can definately tell the difference in how much you have the spirit that day.
Sunday night
Oh Andrew... Elder Holland did our devotional last night!
He was so powerful and I was so humbled. Repent everyday. Remember everything you did down to your smallest thoughts and repent! Everyone should know that if you love the Saviour.... feed his sheep.. not just on a mission but always. I know that the Saviour is real and he really does love us. God knows us individually. I have felt their love so strongly this week. There were times when I felt like their was someone hugging me and telling me that it will all be ok and I am in the right place that I am his beautiful daughter! I feel so humbled. I have to do everything I can to show my love back to them
