So much success!

Hello family!!!

Ahhh the tender mercies of the Lord!! This past week was filled with them! It seems even at home with you guys.

I will start with the most exciting news.. this month if all goes well we will have a baptism on the 9, 16, 23 :) One is an eight year old but it still counts. Her family was less active and so we have been teaching her the lessons. Her name is Rylee Day and she is really sweet. Her little sister is Taylee (6) and she has blonde hair so I am her favourite and Rylee has brown hair and so does Sister Westover so sister Westover is her favourite! They told us that when we had dinner at their house on Sunday! Hehe. We helped them move in and with tons of stuff. It just been so amazing to be there and see their lives change and get put back together through the Gospel.

The one on the 9th is a 10 year old boy and he almost got baptised when he was 8 but got scared and so we are working with him to help him with that. He is a cute kid who is here with his Grandparents. They got permission from the his parents to have him baptised and he will go to church with his Sister back where he lives. He is a cute kid.

The next is a 13 year old boy lol. All kids but this kid is amazing! He is extremely mature. He reads everything that we tell him to and can perfectly recount what it said and how he felt. He loves learning and really wants to keep the commandments. He comes from a kinda rough back ground. His dad lives with them but his dad has his struggles and so his mum has had to be the breadwinner and bring up some of her daughters kids. They are the cutest little girls. He helps his mum with everything and is extremely respectful to her. More respectful than any other kid I have seen his age. His mum joined the church about 10 years ago and quickly became less active becuase she was going through alot. So we have been teaching her almost like you would someone who is hearing about the church for the first time!
So Sunday we had an amazing experience with them. Oh they are the ones that I told you about where my hiccups went away for the lesson! Sorry I probably told you most of that stuff already.. sorry all the days smoosh into one out here!
Ok so we have been praying for Romiro to feel ready for baptism and we had asked twice previously how he felt about it and was always nervious and didnt want to. Last week we had taught them about following the prophet and this week we went through the chapter we had left them and then watched on the Lord's Errand which is a biography type thing of Pres Monsons life. It was so powerful. We have an amazing Prophet and really what got him there was listening to the promptings of the Spirit. There were so many times through the movie where Romiro or his mum would just look at us and kinda go wow or something. It is an amazing movie. At one particular part in this movie, they tell of when he is called to be on the Stake Presidency in the middle of some sought of meeting without any prior warning. He was only in his early 20's I think and they asked to come up and give an impromptu talk and tell them if he will accept the calling. As he is walking up to the stage he said that he felt the last line of the song come into his mind which were " Have courage my boy to say no, have courage my boy to say no." It was a song on the word of Wisdom or something. And then the wards changed in his mind to.. "Have courage my boy to say Yes". As this was said.. impressed in my mind was "Romiro needs to be baptised in three weeks and for the next two weeks he needs to pray about it."
So after the movie we asked them how they felt about it and the parts they liked etc.. we talked about it alot and then Sister Westover shared a powerful testimony on the Prophet and I knew it was my turn. The Spirit had just been getting stronger and stronger in the room. Just as I started describing the part I liked, the dad walked in the house and then like two seconds after that the two little girls poked their heads in for no reason and then walked back outside. Opposition! Then I started again and I cannot remember how I said it but I just felt the Spirit fill the room and I told him what I had felt at that point. I talked about how much we felt god loved them when we were with them, how much he cared about them and that they could know the things we were telling them even enough to take away my hiccups.. such a simple thing. Then i told him what I had felt at that moment and asked him how he felt. He said nervous but excited, like it feels right.
The we got to read where they were up to in the BOM which was 1 Nephi chapter 3... another tender mercy! It was such a powerful lesson. He is praying. The date is set. Listen to promptings!

Well that was a long winded one and now I dont have time to tell you anything else even though I want to!

I love you all!!

Sister Huckfeldt
